Fetty Wap<\/a> has credited 50 Cent<\/a> for being there for him during his federal drug case, which saw him spend three years in prison.<\/p>\n

The rapper was released from a Minnesota prison earlier this week, and on Friday (January 9), he gave his first interview since getting out.\u00a0Speaking on The Breakfast Club<\/a>, he said: \u201c50 did a lot for me\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom day one, it was like, \u2018Whatever you need, just holler at me.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018All right.\u2019 Then [he] was like, \u2018Where this money going?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018What?\u2019 I ain\u2019t used to that. I\u2019m used to it\u2019s always the other way around.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to explain that 50 was able to help him both financially and emotionally, even providing advice over the phone. \u201cWhatever I needed, he was right there,\u201d he said. \u201cHe answered the phone. He didn\u2019t shy off all the way down to the time I\u2019m about to come home, \u2018How you getting home?\u2019 As far as financial and mental help, he was probably there the biggest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fetty explained that 50 encouraged him to \u201cstop fucking up\u201d and that he \u201cshould\u2019ve never stopped making music.\u201d<\/p>\n

50 Cent reposted the clip of the interview while welcoming him home, writing on Instagram: \u201cWOP HOME fresh out the FED\u2019S ready to work. He good I got him let\u2019s get it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fetty Wap was released from prison on Thursday (January 8), around 11 months ahead of his expected release date, which was set for December.<\/p>\n

He was arrested in 2022 on his way to perform at Rolling Loud NYC, a week after the release of his album \u2018Butterfly Effect\u2019. The \u2018679\u2019 rapper was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In August 2022,\u00a0Wap pled guilty and was convicted of one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine<\/a>.\u00a0The rapper was sentenced to six years in jail<\/a> on May 2023.<\/p>\n
