Cate Le Bon<\/a>\u00a0has shared a\u00a0dreamy\u00a0new single \u2018Always\u00a0The\u00a0Same\u2019,\u00a0featuring vocals from\u00a0St. Vincent<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

The art-pop singer-songwriter released her seventh studio album \u2018Michelangelo Dying\u2019 last September and now she is back with \u2018Always The Same\u2019, which marks her second collaboration with St. Vincent.<\/p>\n

Le Bon produced and featured on the title track of St. Vincent\u2019s 2024 album \u2018All Born Screaming\u2019<\/a>, and this time around,\u00a0Annie Clark has returned the\u00a0favour\u00a0by contributing echoey\u00a0vocals\u00a0to\u00a0the woozy, dream-like \u2018Always\u00a0The\u00a0Same\u2019,\u00a0which is based around shimmering, watery guitars.<\/p>\n

Le Bon has said:\u00a0\u201c\u2018Always\u00a0The\u00a0Same\u2019 needed a little more elbow room than the album would\u00a0allow\u00a0but it is cousin to the song cycle of \u2018Michelangelo Dying\u2019,\u00a0coming into formation in the same breath. Special to me because it features dear friend and mighty artist St. Vincent who occupies the space around me with composure and gravitas whilst I kick around in the dirty waters of love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark and Le Bon have been friends for several years, with\u00a0Clark describing her as \u201cone of my\u00a0favourite\u00a0artists ever and a great producer in her own right\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking\u00a0to\u00a0NME\u00a0about Le Bon\u2019s appearance on \u2018All Born Screaming\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0Clark said: \u201c\u201c[I also brought in]\u00a0Cate Le Bon,\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0an incredible producer in her own right. There\u2019s music you love and then there\u2019s music you love that you also listen to all the time. Cate is somebody I listen to all the time, especially her last record\u00a0\u2018Pompeii\u2019<\/a>.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0been good friends for a long\u00a0time\u00a0and she played bass and sang on [the title track] \u2018All Born Screaming\u2019.\u00a0She really held my hand at a moment when I wanted to drown that baby in the bathwater \u2013 like, not throw it out, just drown it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Le Bon continues to be a sought-after producer, having helmed the third\u00a0Dry Cleaning <\/a>album \u2018Secret Love\u2019,\u00a0which was released on Friday (January 9) and\u00a0received a four-star review from\u00a0NME<\/a>.<\/p>\n
