Courtesy of ABStudio Art Gallery

ABStudio Art Gallery describes itself as a “creative sanctuary” for abstract painting and sculpture, anchoring its mission in the transformative power of color, freedom and scale. Could you share how the gallery was founded, and what core values or aesthetic ambitions continue to define it today?

ABStudio Art Gallery was founded as an extension of my artistic journey as an abstract expressionist painter. After years of exploring gesture, color, and textured surfaces, I envisioned a space where viewers could experience the emotional and transformative power of abstraction in an intimate environment.

The gallery is guided by three core values: freedom, quality, and uniqueness. Freedom reflects the expressive nature of the artworks. Quality speaks to the professionalism, depth, and craftsmanship of the artists we present. Uniqueness celebrates the individuality and authenticity of each artistic voice.

ABStudio was created as a sanctuary for contemporary abstraction, sculpture, and visual language, encouraging viewers to connect with art through emotion, imagination, and presence.

Situated in Netanya, Israel, the gallery offers exhibitions of medium- and large‑scale oil and acrylic works by artists who work in abstraction and bold texture. How does the gallery’s physical setting and scale inform how you present artworks, and how visitors experience them?

Located on HaMelacha Street in Netanya, the gallery offers a peaceful setting that encourages slow and attentive viewing. The space is designed to highlight medium and large-scale works, allowing their depth, movement, and layered textures to emerge naturally under soft lighting.

<img decoding="async" alt="Abramovich Patricia. Courtesy of ABStudio Art Gallery

The clean layout supports clarity and harmony. Visitors often describe the gallery as a calm refuge where they can step away from daily life and immerse themselves in color, movement, and emotional reflection. The atmosphere encourages a direct and personal connection with each artwork.

Your current and recent exhibitions, such as “Imaginary Landscapes” (May–June 2025) and “Seeking the Light” (Dec 2024–Jan 2025), emphasize texture, mood, abstraction and an inward journey. Could you describe your curatorial criteria? What qualities in an artwork or artist attract your attention (e.g., scale, technique, color, texture)?

My curatorial approach begins with a theme. For every exhibition, I publish an open call exclusively for women artists, reflecting the gallery’s mission to amplify women’s voices in contemporary art and provide them with a professional, supportive platform.

ABStudio welcomes a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, textile-based work, and experimental forms, as long as they remain aligned with the gallery’s core values of freedom, quality, and uniqueness. The medium matters less than the clarity of intention and the strength of the artistic voice.

Founded as a space dedicated to abstraction, texture, and scale, ABStudio Art Gallery presents contemporary painting and sculpture…

[31
437,434,435,436,438,146,85,46
0":"post-232957","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-arts-and-design","8":"tag-arts","9":"tag-arts-and-design","10":"tag-artsanddesign","11":"tag-artsdesign","12":"tag-design","13":"tag-entertainment","14":"tag-il","15":"tag-israel
["GET
