{"id":233334,"date":"2026-01-11T23:15:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T23:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/233334\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T23:15:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T23:15:12","slug":"bauer-to-lead-football-strength-and-conditioning-programming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/233334\/","title":{"rendered":"Bauer to Lead Football Strength and Conditioning Programming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFORT WORTH \u2013 Following a two-year run at Troy and five years at Houston, Darl Bauer has been named TCU&#8217;s Assistant Athletic Director for Football Human Performance, the department announced on Sunday.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nIn this role, Bauer will lead a team of professionals charged with the development of the Horned Frogs&#8217; strength, conditioning, and speed efforts.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPrior to his two seasons at Troy (2024-25) working with head coach Gerard Parker, Bauer spent five seasons (2019-23) at Houston and 10 seasons at West Virginia (2009-18), primarily with head coach Dana Holgorsen. While at Houston, Bauer helped the Cougars post a 12-win season in 2021, and he saw 12 players selected during his five-year tenure.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nIn Morgantown, Bauer was a part of nine bowl appearances including a victory in the 2012 Orange Bowl with MVP Geno Smith. During his tenure, 30 Mountaineers were selected in the NFL draft. Bauer originally started at WVU as a graduate assistant in 2009 before earning a full-time promotion in 2010. He was promoted to assistant director of strength and conditioning\/director of applied performance prior to the 2018 season.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPrior to WVU, Bauer spent time at Eastern Michigan (2007) as an intern working with the football, men&#8217;s basketball, women&#8217;s soccer, and women&#8217;s volleyball teams.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe is a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), the highest distinction in the strength profession.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nBauer graduated with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in physical education from Hillsdale in 2008 and a master&#8217;s of science degree in athletic coaching education from West Virginia in 2010.
