\n\tThe 2026 Golden Globes kicked awards season into higher gear Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\n\tSurprise wins included Teyana Taylor\u2019s One Battle After Another victory of Best Female Supporting Actor over Amy Madigan for Weapons and Chloe Zhao\u2019s Globe win for Hamnet, which beat Sinners for Best Motion Picture \u2013 Drama, the last award of the night. Director Zhao was stunned and speechless for a bit before Spielberg handed the mike over to her.<\/p>\n

\n\tOne Battle After Another swept in most categories, beating out the screenplay for Sinners by Ryan Coogler. Some thought the vote might split the films between Best Director and Best Screenplay. Frankenstein, on the other hand, walked away with zero awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile she did take home a handful of critic awards including from Los Angeles critics, Teyana Taylor winning Supporting Actress<\/a> surprised everyone, especially Taylor. After winning at the Critics Choice Awards, Weapons scene stealer Amy Madigan was seen to be the front-runner in the category.<\/p>\n

\tSurprise \u2013 \u2018Hamnet\u2019 Wins Best Motion Picture \u2013 Drama<\/p>\n

\tSnub \u2013 Guillermo del Toro\u2019s \u2018Frankenstein<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the film hasn\u2019t been considered a front-runner, after landing a handful of SAG noms and a Critics Choice win for Jacob Elordi, some thought it might grab some gold Sunday night. Alas, the Guillermo del Toro pic left the Globes empty handed with no wins.<\/p>\n

\tSnub \u2013 \u2018Wicked: For Good\u2019 Wins Zero<\/p>\n

\n\tWicked: For Good also walked away from the 83rd Golden Globes without any trophies. Its predecessor Wicked won the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in 2025. Stars Ariana Grande and Colman Domingo were present, but Cynthia Erivo was absent. <\/p>\n

\tSnub \u2013 Yorgos Lanthimos\u2019 \u2018Bugonia\u2019 Starring Emma Stone<\/p>\n

\n\tYorgos Lanthimos films have success in the past at Globes especially if Emma Stone is involved.
