COLLEGE PARK, MD\u00a0\u2013 The University of Maryland baseball team began practice on Monday, January 12\u00a0ahead of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

The Terps will open the season on the road, traveling to UNC Wilmington for a three-game series beginning Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. The remaining games in the series are scheduled for Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Maryland will then host its first home game of the season against Georgetown on Feb. 17. The two teams met three times last season, with the Terps winning the opening matchup before dropping the final two contests.<\/p>\n

The Terrapins return multiple key contributors from a season ago, including Brayden Martin<\/a> and Aden Hill<\/a>, who each made 55 or more starts during the 2025 season. Maryland also welcomes an impressive group of transfers, including Antonio Morales<\/a> (Wake Forest), David Mendez<\/a> (Vanderbilt), Rylen Stockton<\/a> (UNC Asheville), Ryan Costello<\/a> (LSU), Jackson Sirois<\/a> (Virginia), and Lance Williams<\/a> (East Carolina).<\/p>\n

Head coach Matt Swope<\/a> has assembled an impressive freshman class ahead of the 2026 season, earning a spot on Baseball America’s Top 25 Recruiting Classes list. The class is highlighted by infielder Ty Kaunas<\/a> and left-handed pitcher Austin Weiss<\/a>, both Maryland natives.<\/p>\n

Single\u2011game tickets for the 2026 season will be announced soon. Fans interested in attending multiple home events can now purchase a Maryland Athletics Pride Pass for $59. The Pride Pass is an all\u2011Olympic sports season ticket that grants access to all regular\u2011season home contests for wrestling, baseball, men’s lacrosse, and women’s lacrosse\u00a0during the 2025\u201126 season.
