Audiences watching the 2026 Golden Globes detected what appeared to be friction between Hollywood stars Pamela Anderson and Miley Cyrus during their joint presentation of an award.

The duo was set to reveal the winner for Actress in Musical or Comedy Motion Picture at the ceremony, when Cyrus playfully remarked that she had gotten all the nominees inked on her body. “Wanna see where my Bugonia tattoo is?” the pop star asked flirtatiously.

Anderson, however, wasn’t playing along. Without acknowledging the singer’s joke, she responded, “I do not.”

Both celebrities maintained straight faces as they proceeded to announce the nominees, leaving the audience and viewers at home to question the nature of their relationship.

Once the stars exited the stage side by side, fans quickly picked up on the uncomfortable energy and flooded social media with their observations. One viewer posted, “Is it just me, or did Miley Cyrus and Pamela Anderson just have a weird moment presenting the award?” Others chimed in, with another asking, “Pamela Anderson doesn’t like Miley Cyrus, right?”.

Another viewer questioned, “Did it seem to me or was Pamela Anderson a bit too harsh on Miley Cyrus? #GoldenGlobes”.

“This is awkward as h—. I don’t think Pam Anderson likes Miley lmao,” another user speculated.

Regardless of the perceived unease between the pair, the ceremony continued smoothly, with the accolade ultimately going to Rose Byrne for her performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Upon receiving the accolade, Byrne told the audience, “This is such a shock. Thank you so much. I share this with Mary Bronstein, my writer and director. She wrote this unbelievable screenplay, and she wanted me to do it. I can’t believe that you wanted me to do it.”
