Apple TV just reminded everyone that it quietly has one of the most ambitious sci-fi universes on television. Today, the streamer dropped a brand-new teaser for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters<\/a> Season 2 \u2014 and yeah, it\u2019s already sending Monsterverse<\/a> fans into full spiral mode. The 10-episode season will officially kick off February 27, 2026, with new episodes rolling out weekly through May 1, and this time the scale is\u2026 a lot. We\u2019re talking Godzilla<\/a>, Kong<\/a>, and a brand-new nightmare fuel Titan that looks like it crawled straight out of a myth.<\/p>\n

Season 1 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters built its reputation by doing something surprisingly smart: instead of just throwing Titans at the screen, it made the Monsterverse personal. The story followed Cate Randa (Anna Sawai) as she discovered her father\u2019s secret life, leading her, her half-brother Kentaro (Ren Watabe), and hacker May (Kiersey Clemons) into Monarch\u2019s long, messy history. Along the way, they crossed paths with the iconic Lee Shaw, played by Kurt Russell<\/a> in the present and Wyatt Russell<\/a> in the 1950s. Additional season two guest stars include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder<\/a>, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper and Camilo Jim\u00e9nez Var\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

According to Apple TV’s description:<\/p>\n

In addition to Kong, season two will feature Godzilla and introduce a new Titan: the enigmatic Titan X<\/a>, now officially on the loose. Titan X isn\u2019t just another monster; it\u2019s a living cataclysm. When its massive bioluminescent form breaks the surface of the ocean, the world seems to hold its breath. In \u201cMonarch: Legacy of Monsters\u201d season two, Titan X stands at the center of the mystery – an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.<\/p>\n

Is ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Worth Watching?<\/p>\n

Collider’s review of the season<\/a> hailed it as fun, if slightly inconsequential, because even though \u2014 like all the MonsterVerse movies \u2014 if the humans aren’t interesting, at least we get big monsters fighting:<\/p>\n

While Monarch: Legacy of Monsters may test the patience of those just looking for giant creatures to fight each other, there’s plenty of potential to what the series is getting at. Plus, Russell is as good a person as any to hold the stage while Godzilla waits in the wings. For now, the show seems relatively confident in letting its story have room to breathe and not getting too caught up in connections to the broader universe.<\/p>\n
