Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/a> has quietly become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time at the box office over the last week. At the time of writing, James Cameron<\/a>\u2019s fiery sci-fi threequel has amassed exactly $888 million in international territories, which is enough to make it the 20th-highest-grossing movie of all time in foreign markets. It passed Frozen<\/a> ($868 million) to reach this mark, and next on its list is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom<\/a> ($890 million). The film has also earned $342 million domestically for a global total of $1.2 billion, with more coming in every day.<\/p>\n Avatar: Fire and Ash flips the story of Pandora on its head in a way neither of the first two films in the franchise has. Both Avatar<\/a> and Avatar: The Way of Water<\/a> feature Jake Sully (Sam Worthington<\/a>) and his wife Neytiri (Zoe Salda\u00f1a<\/a>) recruiting over Na\u2019vi to fight against the Sky People, but Avatar 3 introduces evil Na\u2019vi in the Mangkwan clan, or the Ash people. The Mangkwan have turned their back on Eywa after they were left to fend for themselves while a horrible fire burned their village to ash. Now, they take out their aggressions on the rest of Pandora.<\/p>\n Avatar: Fire and Ash reaching such a lofty box office total also all but ensures that there will be another movie in the franchise. During the days before Avatar 3 hit theaters, director James Cameron revealed that the fourth movie had not yet been greenlit<\/a>, and it would depend on how the threequel performed at the box office. If over $1.2 billion \u2014 likely over $1.5 billion by the time it\u2019s all said and done \u2014 isn\u2019t enough, then nothing would have been.<\/p>\n Is \u2018Avatar: Fire and Ash\u2019 on Disney+?<\/p>\n Avatar: Fire and Ash is not streaming on Disney+<\/a> and is not yet available to rent or purchase on VOD platforms such as Prime Video<\/a> and Apple TV<\/a>. It likely won\u2019t make its VOD debut until sometime in February or March, depending on how the box office results shake out, and the Disney+ streaming debut will be even further behind. It\u2019s not expected on Disney+ until sometime during the summer \u2014 The Way of Water hit Disney+ in June after its December premiere.
