Brooks + Scarpa has changed its name to Brooks Scarpa Huber<\/a> with immediate effect, adding longtime partner Jeffrey Huber to the firm\u2019s title. The Los Angeles-based firm made the change to recognize Huber\u2019s leadership role and to reflect the firm\u2019s expanded operations across the West Coast and South Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Founded in 1991, the firm has built a portfolio with the ethos of integrating architecture, landscape architecture, planning, and design research in the name of enhancing the human experience through innovation and sustainability. Last year, the firm was among the winners<\/a> at the 2025 AIA Architecture Awards, while in 2024, the firm was honored at the AIA|LA Design Awards<\/a>\u00a0and named among the 200 top residential architecture firms<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Forbes.<\/p>\n

Following the rebrand<\/a>, the practice is now led by Angela Brooks, Lawrence Scarpa, and Jeffrey Huber, all Fellows of the AIA<\/a>. Huber, who is also a Fellow of the\u00a0ASLA<\/a>, joined the firm in 2015. Since then, Huber has served as a principal overseeing planning, urban design, and landscape-oriented projects, as well as managing the firm\u2019s South Florida studios.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always have hope [for a more] just and equitable society, as well as an ecological or resilient future,\u201d Huber said about the future of the firm in an interview with Tibby Rothman. \u201cWhat I love about architecture is: I can have an impact on the communities, the society that I’m in that will last far beyond my lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUrban planning is one of those ways where we can update cities,\u201d Angela Brooks added. \u201cWhat are cities going to look like in 50 years? I don’t think the planners can do it on their own; the public can’t do it on their own, and politicians certainly are not going to be able to do it. It’s going to take architects and urban designers to help people bring cities into the next century. Our value as a firm is beyond the building.\u201d<\/p>\n
