{"id":239168,"date":"2026-01-15T09:34:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T09:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/239168\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T09:34:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T09:34:14","slug":"burnham-on-sea-pubs-recycling-project-turns-plastic-tubs-into-charity-cash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/239168\/","title":{"rendered":"Burnham-On-Sea pub\u2019s recycling project turns plastic tubs into charity cash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">A Burnham-On-Sea pub is raising funds for a cancer support charity by recycling empty plastic tubs of confectionery, biscuits and chocolates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Railway in Burnham-On-Sea High Street is among scores of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greeneking.co.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Greene King<\/a> pubs across the country taking part in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tub2pub.co.uk\/tub2pub\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">scheme<\/a>\u00a0called TUB2PUB.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Burnham residents are being invited to bring their empty plastic tubs to the pub until the end of February 2026 where they are being collected for recycling before the funds generated are donated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macmillan.org.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Macmillan Cancer Support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Landlord Antony Doble told Burnham-On-Sea.com: \u201cMacmillan is Greene King\u2019s chosen charity \u2013\u00a0it\u2019s a great charity as cancer affects almost everyone in one way or another. My dad had cancer before he passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cThere\u2019s no cost \u2013 just bring us your clean and empty plastic tub to be recycled. We then turn them into products and donate all proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.
