A Redditor was left agitated after a man, who used the word \u201cdude\u201d himself, lectured him about his \u201cinformal\u201d replies during a WhatsApp chat. Netizens quickly took note of his double standards and highlighted that WhatsApp is not a formal platform.<\/p>\n

Here’s what happened:<\/p>\n

According to the viral post, a man randomly contacted the Redditor on LinkedIn<\/a> about a job he didn’t apply for.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a short back-and-forth there, we moved to WhatsApp<\/a> for convenience. We discussed the budget, the company, and all that. Then I shared my portfolio and resume (PDF),\u201d the post, which was accompanied by a screenshot of the chat, read.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026then out of nowhere, he decided to lecture me about how my replies should be more \u2018formal\u2019,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, dude, I didn\u2019t even apply for this job<\/a>; you came to me. If \u201cOkay, cool\u201d is enough to turn you off, then honestly, I don\u2019t care,\u201d the Redditor said, highlighting the man’s \u201cfragile ego\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the screenshot, the man, likely a recruiter, was thrown off by the Redditor’s \u201cokay, cool\u201d response.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsually the reply should be ok thanks,\u201d the man said, adding that if the Redditor is trying to look for a job, \u201cit’s better to be formal\u201d. However, the man, who used \u2018dude\u2019 to address the Redditor, added that he was talking generally and not about his company.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople will judge you more on your communication than skills. It’s just an advice,\u201d the person said.<\/p>\n

However, a few users saw reason, and said, \u201cHe was trying to be a brother to him, it\u2019s understandable.. if he scolded him formally then the candidate would generate hate for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
