*WPL 2026 batting charts updated after every matchday<\/p>\n

Like in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Orange Cap and Purple Cap represent two of the most coveted individual honours in the WPL – the former recognising the highest run-scorer and the latter the most successful bowler in a season.<\/p>\n

Australian great Meg Lanning claimed the first-ever WPL Orange Cap after finishing as the leading run-scorer in the inaugural 2023 season with 345 runs in nine matches for runners-up Delhi Capitals.<\/p>\n

She outscored Natalie Sciver-Brunt, the top-scorer for the inaugural champions Mumbai Indians, by just 13 runs.<\/p>\n

Lanning came close to retaining the Orange Cap in 2024 but had to settle for second place, finishing just behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru\u2019s Ellyse Perry.<\/p>\n

Perry dominated that season with 347 runs in nine matches and played a decisive role in RCB lifting their maiden WPL title, while Lanning ended up with 331 runs as Delhi finished runners-up for the second straight year.<\/p>\n

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who had agonisingly lost out in the inaugural season, set a new benchmark in WPL 2025 and walked away with the Orange Cap with a mammoth haul of 523 runs in 10 matches, leading her team MI to a second title.<\/p>\n

Perry was a distant second in the batting charts that season with 372 runs in eight games, underlining the Englishwoman\u2019s dominance over the season.<\/p>\n

Among Indian batters, Shafali Verma has come closest to winning the WPL Orange Cap so far, with the opener finishing third in the 2024 batting charts with 309 runs from nine games – just 38 behind winner Perry. She was also fourth on the run-scorers\u2019 list in 2025.<\/p>\n
