A new trade proposal has the Chicago Bulls dealing Coby White to the Minnesota Timberwolves.<\/p>\n
The buzz around the Chicago Bulls<\/a> continues to increase as the trade deadline approaches. The team reportedly has a number of players it\u2019s looking to deal<\/a>, including Coby White<\/a>.<\/p>\n The North Carolina product will hit free agency after this season<\/a> and would likely be a second-half rental for an acquiring team. Still, he has no shortage of suitors, as he could help any contender with his ability to run the point.<\/p>\n The Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> have been linked to White for the last couple of months, as they need a true point guard opposite of Anthony Edwards<\/a>. In a new trade proposal, CBS Sports\u2019 Sam Quinn<\/a> has the team acquiring him for some high-upside players.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the full trade proposal:<\/p>\n Timberwolves receive: G Coby White, G Jevon Carter Who says yes to this deal? Let\u2019s see it through and find out:\u00a0<\/p>\n Why Minnesota Timberwolves Make This Trade<\/p>\n The Timberwolves get the point guard they need to position an already dangerous team for a run at the NBA<\/a> Finals. After falling short in the Western Conference Finals the last two seasons, Minnesota believes White is a player who can help them break through against elite defensive teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/a><\/p>\n The Timberwolves have been reluctant to give up Donte DiVincenzo<\/a> in a trade, and they avoid doing so here by offering Dillingham and Shannon Jr. instead. Both players were first round picks in 2024, but the former has not been able to crack the rotation and the latter remains out with a left foot abductor strain<\/a>.<\/p>\n Minnesota does not give up any draft picks in this hypothetical trade, either, something Chicago will probably push for<\/a> with more than just the Timberwolves interested in White.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Why Chicago Bulls Make This Trade<\/p>\n If you\u2019re the Bulls, you probably like the potential of Dillingham, the No. 8 overall selection in 2024. The guard hasn\u2019t played enough in the past season and a half to really be able to evaluate him, and the Bulls would likely give him more minutes (especially if they end up moving Ayo Dosunmo<\/a> or Tre Jones<\/a> in addition to White) in the second half of the season to see if he can be a long-term fit.<\/p>\n The Bulls should ask for at least one first-round pick (maybe more) in this trade, especially since Dillingham is a complete unknown.
