Hermanus, South Africa (19 January 2026) \u2013 Lynne Reddie is a knitting hero. Before Christmas came around last year, she lovingly knitted an entire collection of funky animals. She called them Reddie Teddies, and she gave them a special purpose. To help animals in Hermanus.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The teddies were donated to Wags n Whiskers<\/a>, where they could be sold off and the proceeds used for essential care for vulnerable and needy animals in town.<\/p>\n

\u201cA heartfelt thank you to Lynne Reddie, who so lovingly knitted and donated her beautiful Reddie Teddies to Wags n Whiskers in December. These special knitted animals didn\u2019t just warm hearts locally \u2014 some even travelled as far as Johannesburg to find their new homes!\u201d shared the organisation.<\/a><\/p>\n

It takes a village to make good things happen. The kind owner of a local computer store offered to display and sell the teddies on Wags n Whisker\u2019s behalf. By January, Reddie Teddies had flown off the shelves, and R5050 was raised!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cThese funds will go towards sterilising, vaccinating, tick and flea treating, and deworming animals in need \u2014 changing lives, one paw at a time,\u201d shares Wags n Whiskers.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what collective kindness can do.<\/p>\n

For many of us, donating money isn\u2019t always an option; sometimes, there just isn\u2019t enough of it to go around. Otherwise, we\u2019d all be heroes, right? Wrong. Being a hero doesn\u2019t have to cost extra money. When you rely on your gifts and creativity, with what you already have on hand, you\u2019d be amazed at what you can pull off. That\u2019s how Lynne managed to make a difference, with a pair of knitting needles and some wool.<\/p>\n
