\n\tMelissa Leo<\/a>, who won the best supporting actress Oscar for \u201cThe Fighter\u201d in 2011, said during a Q&A with The Guardian <\/a>that her career was \u201cmuch better\u201d before winning the award.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWinning an Oscar has not been good for me or my career,\u201d Leo said. \u201cI didn\u2019t dream of it, I never wanted it and I had a much better career before I won.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLeo\u2019s comments were in response to a question about what \u201cgoes through your mind\u201d when your name is called during the Oscars.<\/p>\n

\n\tRecalling the night she won, Leo said, \u201cI had won a lot of prestigious awards for \u2018The Fighter\u2019 that season, and sat in that great gigantic theater thinking: \u2018Well, it certainly is possible.\u2019 Kirk Douglas came out to present the best supporting actress award, opened the envelope and called my name. I was so delighted to meet him \u2014 that was all I was thinking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added, \u201cI turned to the house, which in most theaters, you can see by looking a little above your own eyesight. In the Dolby Theatre, you have to raise your chin like you\u2019re about to scale Mount Everest. Every single actor, director and producer you recognize, is staring you in the face. I then cursed, and I\u2019m still sorry I cursed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLeo famously said the f-word during her acceptance speech. She said that Kate Winslet made it look \u201cso fucking easy\u201d when she won best actress for \u201cThe Reader\u201d in 2009.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe said of the slip-up, \u201cI fucking curse all the time, but you cannot curse on network television.
