Death in Paradise is welcoming a host of guest stars to its upcoming season, including Happy Valley’s Siobhan Finneran.

The newcomers join Don Gilet as he reprises his role as DI Mervin Wilson. The detective has had a hard time adjusting to life in Saint Marie, though he had the chance to reconnect to his long-lost half-brother Solomon (Daniel Ward).

As DI Wilson readies to take “a myriad of baffling cases” in season 15, the synopsis teases a group of Saint Marie newcomers will be crossing paths with the established characters.

Alongside Finneran, joining the series in a guest star role, are Gavin and Stacey’s Steffan Rhodri, Ghosts’ Ben Willbond, Midsomer Murders’ Gary Wilmot, and Downton Abbey stars Phoebe Sparrow and Antonia Bernath.

Also starring are Killing Eve’s Sean Delaney, EastEnders’ Scarlett Alice Johnson, Spooks’ Hermione Norris, Horrible Histories’ Sarah Hadland, and Shakespeare in Love star Tim McMullan.

“After some tough love from old friend, Catherine Bordey (Elizabeth Bourgine), he’s determined to win back the trust of the island,” the logline suggests.

As for DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) and Officer Sebastian Rose (Shaquille Ali-Yebuah), the duo will help new recruit Sergeant Mattie Fletcher (Catherine Garton) settle as “shadows from her past begin to reveal themselves”.

Death in Paradise season 15 premieres on 30 January on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
