Bella Hadid<\/a> is checking in with her followers after a week of Instagram silence.<\/p>\n

The supermodel posted a carousel of photos<\/a> to the social media app Sept. 17, showing herself hooked up to IVs and lying in what looks to be a hospital bed. The post, captioned “I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys,” flops back and forth between shots of Hadid, 28,<\/a> hooked up to various medical devices, and more serene images of the sunset from her window. Some of the IVs appear to contain blood, and one photo shows Hadid with a bag of ice on her forehead.<\/p>\n

USA TODAY has reached out to Hadid’s reps for comment.<\/p>\n

The middle child of model Yolanda Hadid<\/a> and real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, Bella<\/a> was diagnosed with Lyme Disease<\/a> in 2012, and began sharing her health struggles publicly<\/a> in 2023. Her mother had previously revealed the diagnosis for the disease, which she also suffers from, at a 2015 gala. Anward Hadid, the youngest of the siblings, also has Lyme Disease.<\/p>\n

In the comment section, the model’s famous friends and family were quick to offer support, with her mother writing: “\u2764\ufe0fLyme warrior” and Brazilian actress \u00cdsis Valverde adding “hope u get better soon.<\/p>\n

Lyme disease, which is commonly contracted through tick bites, can severely impact the joints, heart and nervous system. It’s most commonly reported in the upper Midwest, Northeast and mid-Atlantic and symptoms include fever, fatigue, joint pain and skin rash. Those symptoms can be mild or progress to severe infections that require hospitalization.<\/p>\n

In a previous post about the difficulty of battling the disease amid a busy work schedule, the model wrote: “Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can\u2019t really explain. To be that sad and sick with the most blessings\/privilege\/opportunity\/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever.”<\/p>\n
