Nick Reiner is reportedly struggling with his mental state in jail, where he has been since his arrest for the alleged murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner Singer.<\/p>\n

Harvey Levin told Fox & Friends<\/a> on Monday, January 19, that Nick is not able to fully grasp the consequences of his actions and why he\u2019s in jail.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is not competent to stand trial right now. He is almost childlike in jail, we\u2019re told,\u201d the TMZ executive producer, 75, said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe knows what he did,\u201d Levin added. \u201cHe just can\u2019t understand where he is right now, and I know that sounds crazy, but he is out of his head right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nick was formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders. He has not yet entered a plea as his initial arraignment was postponed until February 23.<\/p>\n

The National Enquirer previously reported<\/a> that Nick was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder around 2020, which can cause hallucinations and delusions along with mood disorder symptoms including depression, mania or hypomania. He was on medication but doctors had recently changed up his meds after he complained of weight gain.<\/p>\n

Levin told Fox & Friends that the medication change likely contributed to his mental state when he committed the murders, which he described as \u201cincredibly brutal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know people in the medical examiner\u2019s office who are traumatized just by the pictures,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has the markings of somebody who was just wild, wildly strong. We have not gotten the confirmation of that, but we\u2019ve talked to people\u2026 If he were just Nick Reiner without something additional, the carnage wouldn\u2019t have been the way it was,\u201d Levin said.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, January 7, Nick\u2019s former lawyer Alan Jackson<\/a> reiterated his belief in his former client\u2019s innocence. \u201cWhat we\u2019ve learned and you can take this to the bank, is that pursuant to the laws of this state, Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder,\u201d he said. \u201cPrint that. We wish him the very very best moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
