Davina McCall has shared a first insight into her wedding day with Michael Douglas<\/a> as she detailed details from their ‘intimate’ ceremony and reception.<\/p>\n

The TV presenter, 58, who married her partner in December, described it as: ‘The\u00a0most perfect day, with only 11 guests. It was very intimate and special.’<\/p>\n

Davina who was speaking from the\u00a0Bestseller Awards, where she won an award for her book Menopausing, hailed hairdresser Michael for his unstinting support.<\/p>\n

She said: ‘He is the ultimate female ally and menopause<\/a> ally. He’s helped so many women, including myself, with menopausal hair.’<\/p>\n

She added: ‘I can’t walk down the street without women nodding at me and smiling.’<\/p>\n

The couple recently shared their hopes for the coming year after Davina suffered several health setbacks in 2025.<\/p>\n

Davina recently completed her radiotherapy for breast cancer after previously being diagnosed with a benign brain tumour in November 2024.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the ‘shift’ she had felt on their podcast, Making The Cut,\u00a0Davina remarked of the supermoon sighting on January 3: ‘Ever since the 1st of January everything has changed. It was the supermoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘We got married and it was the supermoon.’<\/p>\n

Michael, 49, replied: ‘I think I had the hardest year of my life last year. I think it was so hard. It broke me really. I would say by November, I was done.<\/p>\n

‘I just thought, “I don’t think I can recover from this.” And I cannot tell you how good I feel\u2026.It’s the best I’ve felt for as long as I can remember.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Davina replied: ‘But you have, and you are amazing.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elsewhere during the episode, the newlyweds discussed whether Davina would be taking Michael’s surname now that they are married.<\/p>\n

She clarified: ‘I think, like in public, I am Davina McCall. I’ve always been Davina.’<\/p>\n

Davina married her devoted partner after he supported her through surgery to remove a benign tumour from her brain and a recent breast cancer diagnosis, and friends claimed it was her recent health woes that prompted them to marry now.<\/p>\n

She and Michael were supported by their loved ones at the wedding, with Davina’s daughter Tilly, 22, sharing a video on TikTok ahead of the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Showing off her wedding look, she captioned the post: ‘Be prepared to be SICK of me.’<\/p>\n

Last month, Davina broke her silence on the wedding to praise her ‘lovely’ new husband Michael in a social media post.<\/p>\n

‘It’s not the chocolate. OK it is, but not just one or two, it is becoming Bruce Bogtrotter and Augustus Gloop.<\/p>\n

‘It’s voting frozen pizza over fancy grub with you. Because some nights, nothing can beat a slice of comfort food.’<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Davina held back tears as she revealed she has finished her radiotherapy after battling breast cancer<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

Davina revealed last November that she had detected it early after noticing a lump and getting it checked, leading to a successful lumpectomy.<\/p>\n

She has now completed her course of preventative radiotherapy and became emotional about the treatment coming to an end.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an Instagram video, she said: ‘I finished my radiotherapy today, and it was very, very emotional.’<\/p>\n

Davina then paused for a moment and held back tears as she added: ‘Much more emotional than I thought it would be.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Davina underwent an operation to remove a colloid cyst in her brain last year and almost one year later found a lump on her breast<\/p>\n

‘And I need a bit of positivity and brilliance, so I’m going to go and watch Julia Bradbury<\/a> on Begin Again.’<\/p>\n

Davina recently revealed she is stepping back from full-time work after her breast cancer diagnosis served as a stark wake-up call.<\/p>\n

The TV star described the overhaul as essential after facing two major health scares in quick succession – a rare brain tumour in 2024, followed by cancer.<\/p>\n

Speaking candidly on the Miss Me? podcast, the Masked Singer<\/a> judge admitted the double health blow had forced her to confront a lifetime of running from change and overworking.<\/p>\n

‘Change is something that all my life, I spent running away from,’ she confessed. ‘I absolutely hated it. Change was something that really frightened me. I always loved the status quo, knowing what I was doing and feeling safe in that.’<\/p>\n

For over three decades, Davina has maintained a punishing schedule, fronting everything from Big Brother and Long Lost Family to The Masked Singer and My Mum, Your Dad.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the mother-of-three revealed her perspective has shifted dramatically following her recent health battles, acknowledging that her most significant personal growth has emerged from difficult periods.<\/p>\n

‘What has happened, actually, is that I have realised that all my really big growth has come from change – and often quite painful change,’ she said.<\/p>\n

Davina explained while her brain tumour had initially prompted reflection about reducing stress, it was the subsequent breast cancer diagnosis that truly forced her hand.<\/p>\n

‘I had an amazing breakthrough when I got clean in the early nineties,’ she said, referring to her heroin and alcohol addiction in her twenties.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I had another huge breakthrough after I had my brain tumour removed. I realised that I needed to de-stress my life.<\/p>\n

‘Interestingly, I realised that – but then the breast cancer, which I thought was a very, very frightening thing, made me realise that I really, really had to put that into place. And I have now.’<\/p>\n

She continued: ‘I’m going to work a four-day week. I feel so much better now about my life and trying to get it more balanced.<\/p>\n

‘So now, really, as I hit this stage of my life, I want to take more care of myself. That is my latest project: me, because I can’t take care of anyone else if I’m not okay.’<\/p>\n

The 14mm growth was discovered during a health scan offered as part of her menopause advocacy work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following a six-hour operation, Davina spent several days in intensive care before making what doctors described as a remarkable recovery.<\/p>\n

She shares three children – Holly, 24, Tilly, 22, and Chester, 19 – with ex-husband Matthew Robertson, a former Pet Rescue presenter.<\/p>\n
