Li Tu and James McCabe defeat top seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool at the Australian Open.

Home wild cards James McCabe<\/a> and Li Tu<\/a> sprang a second-round shock at the Australian Open<\/a> on Friday, defeating top seeds Julian Cash<\/a> and Lloyd Glasspool<\/a> 7-6(5), 6-4.<\/p>\n

The British pair, which claimed Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF honours last year, was one of four seeded teams to exit the men\u2019s doubles tournament on Friday.<\/p>\n

Sixth seeds Christian Harrison<\/a> and Neal Skupski<\/a>, who formed a new partnership at the beginning of the season, made it safely through to the third round by defeating Pedro Martinez<\/a> and Jaume Munar<\/a> 6-3, 6-2. Americans Robert Cash<\/a> and JJ Tracy<\/a> also advanced with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Marcelo Demoliner<\/a> and Jean-Julien Rojer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Singles stars Tallon Griekspoor<\/a> and Botic van de Zandschulp<\/a> defeated Matthew Ebden<\/a> and Rajeev Ram<\/a> 6-3, 6-3 and will next meet Harrison and Skupski. Van de Zandschulp will continue his singles quest on Saturday against Novak Djokovic<\/a>, with their Lexus ATP Head2Head series tied at 1-1.<\/p>\n
