Donald Trump<\/a> has revealed he won\u2019t be attending the Super Bowl, and has slammed two of the \u201cterrible\u201d performers lined up for the event.<\/p>\n

Puerto Rican superstar\u00a0Bad Bunny<\/a>\u00a0will be\u00a0playing the prestigious half-time show this year<\/a>\u00a0for the 60th\u00a0Super Bowl, in a move that has\u00a0prompted\u00a0a sizeable backlash from the MAGA community<\/a>.\u00a0Charlie Puth<\/a> will sing the US national anthem, and Brandi Carlile<\/a> will perform \u2018America the Beautiful\u2019, while Green Day<\/a> will play the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the New York Post <\/a>yesterday (January 24), the President \u2013 who notably attended last year\u2019s Super Bowl<\/a> \u2013 said he wouldn\u2019t be at Levi\u2019s Stadium on February 8 because \u201cit\u2019s just too far away\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,\u201d he continued. \u201cI would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.\u201d As well as criticising the distance, Trump also hit out at Bad Bunny and Green Day, who have long been vocal critics of the President. \u201cI\u2019m anti-them,\u201d he said of the musicians.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019d previously called the move to have Bad Bunny headline \u201ccrazy\u201d and claimed he had \u201cnever heard of\u201d<\/a>\u00a0the rapper, while one of his advisors\u00a0confirmed that ICE would be present at the \u201cshameful\u201d concert<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Before news of the slot broke, Bad Bunny\u00a0told fans he would not be touring the US during his ongoing world tour due to fears over ICE agents raiding his concerts<\/a>, comments that seemed to incense the far-right.<\/p>\n

In response, organisation Turning Point USA \u2013 which was founded by the late Charlie Kirk \u2013\u00a0announced plans for an \u2018All American Halftime Show\u2019,<\/a>\u00a0which will be held at the same time and date as the NFL halftime show,\u00a0with Sting set to perform<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0the NFL has held firm and defended the slot<\/a>, with Commissioner Roger Goodell telling the press that the NFL were firm in their decision and reaffirming that the move was \u201ccarefully thought through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jay-Z<\/a> \u2013 who serves as the NFL\u2019s music strategist via his label Roc Nation\u2019s partnership with the league \u2013 has backed up Bad Bunny twice, too. He called the rapper \u201ctruly inspiring\u201d and added that his team felt \u201chonoured to have him on the world\u2019s biggest stage\u201d. More recently, he shared that he wasn\u2019t convinced that the backlash was authentic<\/a>, saying: \u201cThey love him. Don\u2019t let them fool you\u201d.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, meanwhile,\u00a0has promised that \u201cthe world will dance\u201d<\/a> during his half-time show in a defiant new ad.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, his album \u2018Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos<\/a>\u2019 placed Number Five on\u00a0NME\u2019s list of the Best Albums Of 2025<\/a>, and was described as a record where \u201cthe Puerto Rican superstar makes every shot count.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a breathtaking extravaganza in every way: from his joyful marshalling of salsa, bomba, plena, reggaeton and myriad other Latin styles and genres, to the scale of the storytelling,\u201d the entry read.<\/p>\n
