\n\tMadison Beer<\/a> is back with her first new song of the year, \u201cYes Baby.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe dance-pop track finds Beer cooing over thrumming synths and propulsive percussion: \u201cIt\u2019s a look, it\u2019s a touch\/It\u2019s a danger kind of crush\/Say it once, say it twice\/Come and say it another time,\u201d she sings, before launching into the repetitive delirium of the chorus, \u201cYes, baby, yes, yes, baby, yes, yes, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYes Baby\u201d also arrives with a music video, co-directed by Beer and Aerin Moreno, that harkens back to Eighties-style exercise videos. In a statement, Beer described \u201cYes Baby\u201d as \u201creally just a fun and flirty song,\u201d but credited the music video with imbuing it with \u201ca whole new energy.\u201d She added that it \u201cjust feels like a song you want to blast with your friends.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s been over a year since Beer last released a new song, with her single \u201c15 Minutes\u201d<\/a> dropping in July 2024. Several months prior to that, in February, she released<\/a> \u201cMake You Mine,\u201d<\/a> which would go on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording earlier this year. (The song ultimately lost out to Charli XCX\u2019s \u201cVon Dutch.\u201d)<\/p>\n

\n\tA press release for \u201cYes Baby\u201d said more music from Beer would be arriving \u201csooner than you think,\u201d suggesting the single may mark the start of a new album cycle. Beer\u2019s most recent LP, Silence Between Songs<\/a>, was released in 2023, and she spent much of last year on her \u201cSpinnin Tour\u201d<\/a> in support of the album.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast December, Beer spoke with Rolling Stone<\/a> after her Grammy nomination and revealed that \u201cMake You Mine\u201d was one of several upbeat songs she wrote before embarking on her tour. Those tracks, she added, would serve as the backbone of a new album that might be somewhat more dance-music focused, but not entirely.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think that my music taste and the things that I like are all over the place,\u201d she said. \u201cSo I want to showcase all the different influences and things that I listen to. Because if you drove with me for an hour in the car, I couldn\u2019t even tell you the amount of different genres and vibes you would hear. And I just have always been someone that doesn\u2019t want to box myself into one thing. I don\u2019t want to be someone that people can even expect what the next thing is.
