There is nothing worse than when one of your favorite shows gets cancelled, but at least with a cancellation order you have some kind of closure. What’s truly the worst is watching shows you love hanging in a perpetual state of limbo. Unfortunately, this is Marvel Studios and Disney+’s favorite thing to do.

Rather than officially cancelling shows, Marvel likes to leave their futures up in the air. It’ll avoid cancelling shows and instead leave the door cracked open just enough so that there is hope among fans that another season could someday happen.

The nice thing about this is there is hope, and it’s always nice to have hope that a show you love will continue. But as comforting as that hope can be, it doesn’t always translate into a future season. And this is a sentiment that is ringing true now for Hawkeye fans.

While there were once hopes that Hawkeye season 2 would happen, it seems that the show has been canceled by Disney+ with no plans for another season of the show.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in Marvel Studios’ HAWKEYE. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking. I’m happy to do season two of Hawkeye. I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do,” Renner revealed.

Renner might be on board to return for another season of the show, but it seems Marvel has no plans to actually proceed with a second season of Hawkeye.

While promoting Wonder Man, Hawkeye producer Andrew Guest confirmed to The Direct that there had been plans for a second season. Unfortunately, the timing didn’t work out and the needed pieces didn’t come together. Although Marvel has yet to make an official cancellation, Guest seemed to all but confirm there are no longer plans for a second season of the show, but he hopes fans will see more of the show’s leads together in the MCU at some point.

“There was talk at a certain point about… we did explore creatively what season 2 of Hawkeye might be if we were able to do it. Unfortunately, the timing didn’t work out in terms of Marvel and all the various pieces that need to come together, but I loved working on Hawkeye. I think [Jeremy] Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are so terrific together, and I would love to see more of those two.”

If this is really the end for Hawkeye, it’s a shame, as the series was one of the most fun and entertaining Marvel Disney+ shows. It did a brilliant job of telling a self-contained story, but also left the door open for the story to continue in a second season which fans had been hoping would happen.

That doesn’t seem to be in the cards, but perhaps Marvel will have a change of heart or, at the very least, find a way to reunite Clint Barton and Kate Bishop on-screen within the MCU sometime in the near future!

Netflix gets a bad rap for cancelling shows, but at least it doesn’t leave them in limbo for…

[29
146,85,46,411
0":"post-256940","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tv","8":"tag-entertainment","9":"tag-il","10":"tag-israel","11":"tag-tv
["GET
