{"id":257579,"date":"2026-01-26T00:28:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T00:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/257579\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T00:28:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T00:28:11","slug":"gold-rushes-to-record-high-above-5000-oz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/257579\/","title":{"rendered":"Gold rushes to record high above $5,000\/oz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Jan 26 (Reuters) &#8211; Gold surged to a record high above $5,000 an ounce on \u200bMonday, extending a historic rally as \u200cinvestors piled into the safe-haven asset amid rising geopolitical \u200ctensions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Spot gold rose 0.75% to $5,019.85 per ounce by 2304 GMT, while U.S. gold futures for February delivery gained 0.84% to $5,020.60 per \u2060ounce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Escalating friction between \u200cthe U.S. and NATO over Greenland has added fresh momentum to gold&#8217;s \u200dadvance this year on expectations of more financial and geopolitical uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">&#8220;Our forecast for the year is \u200bthat gold will see a high \u200cof $6,400 an ounce with an average of $5,375,&#8221; independent analyst Ross Norman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Gold soared 64% in 2025, underpinned by U.S. monetary policy easing, central bank demand &#8211; with China extending its \u2060gold-buying spree for a \u200bfourteenth month in December &#8211; \u200band record inflows into exchange-traded-funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Spot silver rose 2.52% to $105.54 per ounce.
