Evangeline Lilly<\/a> is on a comprehensive (and costly) new treatment regimen after sustaining brain damage from a traumatic injury.\n<\/p>\n “I am getting experts to tell me how to remedy the deficiencies in my brain at the moment,” the Lost alum began a video<\/a> shared to her 2.6 million Instagram followers on Saturday.\n<\/p>\n On Jan. 3, Lilly revealed that she sustained a traumatic brain injury<\/a> after fainting on a beach in Hawaii and hitting her head the previous May. A series of scans showed that “almost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity,” she explained.\n<\/p>\n Nearly a month later, Lilly returned to the platform to detail the supplement regimen she has since put herself on to help her recovery.\n<\/p>\n “I consider myself one of the extremely fortunate people in this country who can take care of my body the way it needs to be taken care of without money getting in the way of that,” she said. “And so I want to share what I’m learning from them in case any of you out there are also experiencing repercussions from a TBI concussion and want to attend to your brain.”<\/p>\n Lilly cautioned that she is not an expert, and did not specifically endorse any of the brands showcased, but pressed on to name each supplement she has begun taking, when she takes them, and how often.\n<\/p>\n The regimen included omega-3s; the antioxidant N-acetyl cysteine, commonly referred to as NAC; creatine, an amino acid supplement often used in athletic training; curcumin, an anti-inflammatory supplement derived from the turmeric plant, and more.<\/p>\n “So this is a lot of supplements,” Lilly acknowledged, adding the “general note” that she does not “take supplements on a daily basis, I take them on an as-needed basis.” The Canadian actress explained that she plans to take these supplements “for a period of time that I feel is appropriate for the brain to get what it needs from them, and then I will go off of them.”\n<\/p>\n Lilly also added that she prefers to derive her nutrients from food, rather than supplements, “but in a pinch, when the body is needing extra help and extra support, I believe that supplements can be really, really useful.”\n<\/p>\n Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our\u00a0EW Dispatch newsletter<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n The star of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania first detailed the accident<\/a> in Hawaii in a post shared to her Substack blog in May.\n<\/p>\n “I fainted at the beach. And fell face-first into a boulder,” she wrote. “At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock.
