Charli XCX<\/a> has said she wants \u2018Brat<\/a>\u2018 to \u201cstop\u201d at the premiere of her forthcoming film The Moment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Released on February 20 in the UK<\/a>, the upcoming mockumentary follows a fictional version of the singer as she prepares to embark on the record-breaking \u2018Brat\u2019 tour. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the film is made using a combination of real footage from the tour, interwoven with fictional backstage scenes.<\/p>\n

Now, Charli has revealed she\u2019s keen to move on from the album-turned-cultural phenomenon that inspired the film.<\/p>\n

During a press conference at the Sundance Film Festival, where The Moment premiered on Friday (January 23), Charli told the crowd, \u201cRight now, I\u2019m like \u2014 like me in the film \u2014 I\u2019m really wanting \u2018Brat\u2019 to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think for all of us as artists, it\u2019s like, you wanna challenge yourself, and you wanna totally switch the creative soup that you\u2019re in and go and live in a different bowl for a while or whatever, you know?<\/p>\n

\u201cI really just want to work with these incredible directors like Aidan [Zamiri, The Moment director], Gregg Araki, Cathy Yan, like who I feel like I can just live completely different lives with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charli went on to explain how the version of her in the film differs from her real-life persona, saying: \u201cI\u2019m obviously quite related to my character, so I had a lot of inspiration to pull from.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to think I\u2019m not as much of a nightmare as Charli in the film, but my real managers are in the audience, and they probably know the true answer to that. And I know that sometimes I do give them a bit of a hard time, and I think for me those real spiral moments that you see in the film, I have been there. I think I am, as an artist, quite a volatile person\u2026 I\u2019m nice too. I\u2019m nice, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cHaving been in the music industry since I was 16, I\u2019ve gone through various different stages of my career where I\u2019ve felt on top of the world, where I felt like an absolute piece of shit, I\u2019ve gone through it all. And I\u2019ve also met different versions of like all of the characters within this film.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve met the people who are truly kind of like rooting for you no matter what, even if you are an asshole. I\u2019ve met the people who are in it to be close to the artist. I\u2019ve met the sort of people who are so like, \u2018We totally get you\u2019 and they really don\u2019t. I\u2019ve met all of them, so I think for me I\u2019ve had a lot of practice reacting to all of those different kinds of characters in my real life. I was just drawing from that, really.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Moment is one of numerous film projects coming up for Charli, including an acting role in forthcoming comedy-drama\u00a0100 Nights Of Hero.<\/a>\u00a0She has also written new music for Emerald Fennell\u2019s adaptation of\u00a0Wuthering Heights<\/a>, starring\u00a0Margot Robbie<\/a> and Jacob Elordi.<\/p>\n

Recently, she released the haunting new single \u2018Wall Of Sound\u2019 from the film,\u00a0which you can check out here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new songs come after\u00a0Charli recently said that she was \u201ccurrently feeling more inspired by film than by music\u201d after being left \u201cstuck, empty and barren\u201d after her breakthrough album \u2018Brat\u2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[By the end of \u2018Brat\u2019] I sort of felt like I was squeezing blood from a stone, trying to get every last drop of liquid life out of an idea I had already been sat with for years prior,\u201d she shared. \u201cI still love [Brat], don\u2019t get me wrong but I was itching to move on and was simultaneously frustrated that I was so depleted that I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May, she hinted that\u00a0she was expecting her next,\u00a0<\/a>non-<\/a>Wuthering<\/a>\u00a0Heights\u00a0album to go in a completely different direction than \u2018Brat\u2019<\/a>, saying: \u201cYou can never really do the same thing twice and my next record will probably be a flop, which I\u2019m down for to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in February, her producers\u00a0A.G. Cook<\/a>, Finn Keane and\u00a0George Daniel<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0also her husband<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 said that\u00a0the follow-up is shaping up to be \u201canti-Brat\u201d<\/a>, Keane saying: \u201cSome of the conversations we\u2019re having and music we\u2019ve been playing around with the last couple of months have been completely the opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n
