global expansions.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">A national-level service platform will serve as a centralised full-service hub addressing companies\u2019 common needs, including policy consultation, business services, country-specific information, resource matching and risk management, according to Wang Ya, an official heading the foreign investment management department under the Ministry of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The platform will be released on the ministry\u2019s website soon, he added, speaking at a press conference on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative comes amid a rise in global expansion efforts by Chinese firms, as narrowing domestic earnings and rising production capacity push more companies to <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/economy\/global-economy\/article\/3294089\/chinese-firms-going-global-learn-important-lesson-integrate-or-die?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u201cgo global\u201d<\/a> \u2013 with amplified China-US trade tensions last year adding urgency to the push.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Wang Zhihua, head of the Department of Foreign Trade at the ministry, described this year\u2019s trade environment as presenting \u201cboth strategic opportunities and risks, with more uncertainty and hard-to-predict factors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[We will] make every effort to stabilise the fundamentals of foreign trade \u2026 and contribute to a strong start for the <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/article\/3326468\/chinas-15th-5-year-plan?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">15th five-year plan<\/a>,\u201d he said, referring to the latest entry in a line of expansive blueprints that have set the tone for the country\u2019s development for decades.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Wang Zhihua added that new policies would be rolled out at an appropriate time to support trade firms and help them diversify
