\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Diane Lane<\/a> (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) has closed a deal to star alongside Scarlett Johansson and Jacobi Jupe in the next installment of the iconic horror franchise The Exorcist<\/a>, from filmmaker Mike Flanagan.<\/p>\n

\n\tNo word on the role Lane will play, and plot details are being kept under wraps. What\u2019s known is that the film will tell an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe and is not a sequel to 2023\u2019s The Exorcist: Believer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tFlanagan will direct from his own script<\/a>, with production taking place in New York City. He\u2019s also producing via his Red Room Pictures banner, alongside David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment and Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster<\/a>. Exec producers include Alexandra Magistro for Red Room Pictures and Ryan Turek for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.<\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal will release the next Exorcist movie in theaters on Friday, March 12, 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\tAn Oscar nominee who has also been nominated for several Emmys and Golden Globes, Lane most recently led Jan Komasa\u2019s acclaimed thriller Anniversary, alongside Phoebe Dynevor and Kyle Chandler. Prior to that, she starred in Ryan Murphy\u2019s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, opposite Naomi Watts, Demi Moore and Tom Hollander, for which she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series. Also recently starring alongside Jeff Daniels in the David E.
