Chlo\u00eb Sevigny has apologised to fans for posing in photos with Marilyn Manson<\/a>, given the musician\u2019s allegations of sexual assault.<\/p>\n

Sevigny attended the Emmy Awards<\/a> on Sunday (September 14), where she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited or Anthology Series Or Movie for her role in Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story.<\/p>\n

While at the Toast Party for the awards on the previous Friday, she posted pictures of herself in a group with Manson, who was attending with filmmaker Jonas \u00c5kerlund. In one picture Manson had his arm around the actor, while in another she appear to lick the singer\u2019s neck.<\/p>\n

The pictures, posted on her Instagram stories and later shared by others on social media, drew criticism from followers, with one comment asked: \u201cWhy? Just why? You don\u2019t need Manson by your side that\u2019s gross.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Sevigny wrote, \u201cI\u2019m truly sorry \u2014 you\u2019re absolutely right. We unexpectedly ran into MM and Jonas in the lobby of a hotel. We\u2019re both fans of Jonas as both a musician and a filmmaker, and in the moment, I wasn\u2019t thinking clearly. I\u2019d had too much to drink and didn\u2019t consider how inappropriate or hurtful it might be to be photographed with MM. I deeply regret the lapse in judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manson has been the subject of a slew of allegations in recent years: he was accused of rape and domestic violence<\/a> by four women, which he repeatedly denied as \u201cfalsehoods\u201d. The case ended at the start of the year<\/a> when prosecutors said the claims against him had exceeded the statute of limitations and that they were unable to \u201cprove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt\u201d.<\/p>\n

He was due to play a gig in Brighton in October, but it appears that has been cancelled after several MPs spoke up calling for it to be axed.<\/a><\/p>\n

In July, Black Sabbath fans were critical of a video of the singer appearing during the band\u2019s \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 farewell gig at Villa Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n
