\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Dark Matter and The Handmaid\u2019s Tale actress Amanda Brugel<\/a> and Dragon\u2019s Den Canada investor Wes Hall<\/a> are set to enter The Legacy Lounge<\/a>, which is set to bow on CBC<\/a> in Canada.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pair will feature after being selected as new additions to Shamier Anderson<\/a> and Stephan James<\/a>\u2018 Black Academy. Also featured in the four-part CBC series, which brothers Anderson and James will front, are Nathaniel James, Kadeem Hemmings and Nicholas McDonald of the viral TikTok dance trio Basement Gang and multi-platinum recording artist Fefe Dobson.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe episodes are designed to celebrate the success of the Black Canadian honorees, whose work Anderson and Shamier say has \u201cleft a lasting mark on their field, culture and community.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBrugel, an actress-producer, appeared in Apple TV\u2019s Dark Matter and Hulu\u2019s Handmaid\u2019s Tale and has had roles in shows such as The Driver.<\/p>\n

\n\tHall is the founder and CEO of Kingsdale Advisors, Exec Chairman and sounder of WeShall Investments, founder of the BlackNorth Initiative and a Dragon investor in CBC\u2019s Dragon\u2019s Den, the Canadian version of Shark Tank.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series, which we first told you about in December<\/a>, will launch on streamer CBC Gem tomorrow (January 30), with all four episodes available. It will also be offered through CBC\u2019s YouTube channel throughout Black History Month, beginning Monday (February 2) and then have a linear run on CBC at 7.30 p.m. local time from Friday, February 27.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series will also feature special guest appearances from Kevin \u201ck-os\u201d Brereton and Christian Thompson in the episode celebrating Dobson; Barb Godfrey and Weyni Mengesha, who herself received the Trailblazer Award from The Black Academy<\/a> at the 2024 Legacy Awards, in Brugel\u2019s episode; Walied Soliman and filmmaker Clement Virgo for Hall\u2019s episode; and Adrian Holmes, host of the 2024 Legacy Awards, in the Basement Gang ep. Willow Smith and Ann Merriam will provide testimonials for Dobson, O-T Fagbenle will do the same for Brugel, along with Andrew \u201cKing Bach\u201d Bachelor for Basement Gang.<\/p>\n
