Melanie \u201cMel C\u201d Chisholm may have just torpedoed a potential Spice Girls reunion<\/a> tour, Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack<\/a> on Thursday, January 29.<\/p>\n

The singer, 52, told the Sunday Times<\/a> in an interview published on Saturday, January 24 that she made a \u201cconscious decision\u201d to keep daughter Scarlet, 16, out of the public eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have friends who handle it differently, each to their own, no judgment at all,\u201d she added. \u201cBut for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn\u2019t feel comfortable making that decision for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chisholm\u2019s comments \u2014 which came days after Brooklyn Beckham released a bombshell statement on Instagram<\/a> accusing his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, of controlling \u201cnarratives in the press about our family\u201d \u2014 infuriated her bandmate, Shuter reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat Mel said may be true, but it absolutely did not need to be said right now,\u201d one insider told Shuter, while another source revealed that \u201cVictoria took it as judgment \u2014 public judgment \u2014 during one of the most painful moments of her life. She is livid.\u201d<\/p>\n

And while Chisolm\u2019s \u201cintentions weren\u2019t malicious,\u201d a second source added, Victoria\u2019s reaction was \u201cexplosive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe feels Mel chose honesty over loyalty,\u201d another insider revealed. \u201cAnd that\u2019s not something Victoria lets go of easily.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fashion designer, 51, \u201cholds grudges,\u201d the second insider told Shuter. \u201cThis didn\u2019t just hurt her personally \u2014 it embarrassed her professionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Victoria and Chisolm, along with fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell all posted a shot of their get-together at Bunton\u2019s 50th birthday on Instagram<\/a> on January 25, Shuter reported that any plans to reunite on stage are likely to be scrapped.<\/p>\n

Victoria was \u201chesitant\u201d anyway, the first source told Shuter, and \u201cthis just made everything worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
