Sydney Sweeney<\/a> is addressing being labeled “MAGA Barbie” by commenters online.\n<\/p>\n The Housemaid actress, 28, spoke to Cosmopolitan<\/a> about the launch of her lingerie line SYRN<\/a>. During the interview, published Thursday, Jan. 29, Sweeney was asked about people on the internet speculating about her political leanings \u2014 and being frequently dubbed “MAGA Barbie” on social media.\n<\/p>\n “I’ve never been here to talk about politics. I\u2019ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of,” said the Euphoria star. “And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. I\u2019m not a hateful person. If I say, ‘That\u2019s not true,’ they\u2019ll come at me like, ‘You\u2019re just saying that to look better.’ There\u2019s no winning. There\u2019s never any winning.”\n<\/p>\n She added, “I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am. I can\u2019t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for.”\n<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the interview, Sweeney reiterated that she is “not a political person”\n<\/p>\n “I\u2019m in the arts. I\u2019m not here to speak on politics. That\u2019s not an area I\u2019ve ever even imagined getting into. It\u2019s not why I became who I am,” she said. “I became an actor because I like to tell stories, but I don\u2019t believe in hate in any form. I believe we should all love each other and have respect and understanding for one another.”\n<\/p>\n Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans commercial caused controversy<\/a> in July 2025, and President Donald Trump even made public comments about the actress reportedly being a registered Republican<\/a> in August.\n<\/p>\n
