Arvid Lindblad was left content after getting his \u201cfirst proper go\u201d in Racing Bulls\u2019 2026 machine during the Barcelona Shakedown, with the rookie admitting that he is enjoying the \u201cstart of this journey\u201d in terms of adapting to the new car.<\/p>\n
After Liam Lawson<\/a> hit the track for the team\u2019s opening run on Monday, Lindblad<\/a> got his turn during Wednesday\u2019s session and gained some extensive mileage throughout Day 3 of the event at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.<\/p>\n Reflecting back on how his first day had gone, the Briton explained: \u201cReally good. Obviously I was very happy to run today. The plan was to run yesterday but obviously with the rain it got delayed, so I was very excited to sort of get my first proper go this morning.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve really enjoyed the day, it\u2019s been really good. We\u2019ve run without really any problems, so full credit to everyone at VCARB and also at RBPT [Red Bull Powertrains] and Ford for the support. I think on that side, it\u2019s been really good, and we got through the programme. There are some bits to work on, but generally I think it\u2019s been a positive day and I\u2019m happy with how it\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n Quizzed on how much he is enjoying getting to grips with the 2026 car \u2013 amid the introduction of new technical regulations<\/a> into the sport \u2013 Lindblad responded: \u201cI\u2019m enjoying it. Obviously it\u2019s very different to drive, so it\u2019s exciting and it\u2019s fun also obviously to drive in F1 but you feel it\u2019s different.<\/p>\n \u201c[I\u2019m] thinking about, \u2018how can I make a difference, how can I get the best out of all the different parts of the car\u2019, because it is different to drive. But it\u2019s a journey for all of us because it is very different to what was there last year, so we\u2019re all learning together. I\u2019m enjoying the start of this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n Lindblad also spoke positively about his early impressions of the Red Bull Powertrains power unit, with 2026 marking the first season in which both Red Bull<\/a> and Racing Bulls<\/a> will run with their own engine.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously there are a few things to improve but it\u2019s been really impressive, I think,\u201d the 18-year-old said. \u201cFor the main part there haven\u2019t really been any reliability problems \u2013 the issues I\u2019m talking about, they\u2019re relatively small.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are things that can be improved, but they\u2019re much better than I was expecting. Massive credit to everyone at RBPT and Ford for helping put it together and to get to this point, and yeah, just looking forward to [getting] to work.\u201d<\/p>\n As he gears up for his maiden season in Formula 1 \u2013 during which he will be the only rookie on the grid \u2013 Lindblad was also asked about how well prepared he feels for the campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know, I\u2019ve got a lot to learn,\u201d the new Racing Bulls driver answered. \u201cIf I\u2019m entirely ready, I don\u2019t know \u2013 it\u2019s not really something I think about.
