Architecture Drawing Prize 2025 Overall Winner: ‘Shilpogram: A Crafter’s Village’ by Sanjidah Chowdhury<\/p>\n

‘Shilpogram: A Crafter\u2019s Village’ by Sanjidah Chowdhury has been named the overall winner of the 2025 Architecture Drawing Prize<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Awarded jointly by the World Architecture Festival<\/a>, Make Architects<\/a>, and Sir John Soane\u2019s Museum<\/a>, the top drawing was just selected from the fifteen winners<\/a> we published in October last year.<\/p>\n

Chowdhury, a graduate of the Manchester School of Architecture<\/a> and an architectural assistant at dMFK Architects<\/a>, used Rhino, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator to create the triptych exploring the flood-prone Shilpogram Village in Zakiganj, Bangladesh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Her equitable social study-driven proposal focuses on the reintegration
\nand agency of marginalized Bangladeshi villagers, expressing spaces as a
\n catalyst for interactions and local materials, crafting, and
\nconstruction techniques to redesign the built forms,” the Prize organizers describe her winning submission. “The drawings follow fishermen, craftspeople and farmers, illustrating
\nhow Bangladeshis can adapt their lives as sea levels rise. Understanding
\n villagers\u2019 everyday practices through a social science lens and
\nin-person fieldwork, the proposal reimagines mundane spaces of
\ncultivating, fishing, crafting, education, and gathering as an equitable
\nmeans of livelihood and community living.”<\/p>\n

Sir John Soane\u2019s Museum in London is currently exhibiting the winning drawing, together with the other award recipients, until February 15, 2026.<\/p>\n
