This weekend saw many a pre-Grammy party. All across Los Angeles, musicians, producers, and industry professionals flocked from festivity to festivity, catching performances from Best New Artist nominees with Spotify, honoring Republic Records co-founders Monte and Avery Lipman with Clive Davis, and celebrating a year of chart-topping hits and boundary-pushing projects. But only one soirée doubled as a birthday party.

On Friday night, Hennessy and Epic Records toasted the label’s 2026 Grammy nominees, bringing together the likes of Tyla, Zara Larsson, Usher, Ty Dolla Sign, and Kesha for signature cocktails, DJ sets, and dancing. The highlight of the night, however, was when the attention turned to the “Water” singer herself, celebrating not only her Best African Music Performance nomination but also a more personal milestone: her 24th birthday.

For the big night, Tyla and stylist Ron Hartleben accessorized a custom Baba Jagne T-shirt minidress—designed in white with a strapless neckline and backless silhouette—with a handful of early ’90s-inspired neon accents: green-and-orange drop earrings by Tarina Tarantino, several Alexis Bittar bangles, and two different colored Le Silla heels. She also coordinated her glam to the vibrant hues, going for highlighter-yellow eyeshadow and matching nails.

As the evening started to wind down, DJ Sky Tylaa got the crowd together to sing “Happy Birthday” to Tyla, and Hennessy surprised her with a custom cake. Larsson cheered the birthday girl on, wearing a bold, transparent hot-pink ensemble of her own—pulled from Blumarine’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection. The “Midnight Sun” star paired the dress with a bright-blue bangle and toasted to the newly 24-year-old artist.
