To my ears, this is the best grunge\/shoegaze amalgam on planet Earth at the moment. Softcult\u2019s just-released debut album When A Flower Doesn\u2019t Grow features 11 astounding songs, including the new single \u201cNot Sorry\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Not Sorry\u2019 is about not allowing the hateful ignorance of others to affect our self-esteem,\u201d says Mercedes. \u201cPatriarchal society can be extremely cruel to cultural, racial, sexual and gender minorities. Most of this vitriol stems from ignorance and weaponised misinformation. Certain political organizations promote hateful rhetoric when they see minority groups as a threat to their grasp on power.
