Actress Maika Monroe has provided another update on They Follow, the sequel to It Follows that was announced<\/a> back in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cRumors have been spreading that it will be happening,\u201d Monroe tells EW<\/a>. \u201cI would stay positive, because I\u2019ve heard some good news recently.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monroe will reprise her role as Jay Height, who was pursued by a supernatural entity in the 2014 modern horror classic. A decade later, the threat is everywhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not at all what I expected, where you would find Jay, which I thought was really interesting,\u201d Monroe continues. \u201cI was like, \u2018Whoa! Cool,\u2019 which I think the audience will probably have a similar reaction.\u201d<\/p>\n

She adds, \u201cI know this might sound clich\u00e9, but it\u2019s staying true to the original where we\u2019re bringing back all the same team\u2026 The story is very much still in that space, but it\u2019s just grander. I\u2019m really, really excited for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Writer-director David Robert Mitchell is back at the helm. Composer Disasterpeace is in talks to return as well.<\/p>\n

Neon and Good Fear Content are producing the sequel.<\/p>\n

Monroe previously said<\/a> of the script, \u201cI felt the original is a little more heightened and dramatic, and this I think is really quite grounded and sort of follows the story of these two women that are just mentally dealing with a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

While we wait for They Follow, Maika Monroe can be seen in the new Resident Evil Requiem short film<\/a>.<\/p>\n
