The Wallabies will kick off their 2027 Rugby World Cup campaign against Hong Kong China in Perth on Friday, October 1 at 6:45pm local time.<\/p>\n
The first Rugby World Cup game on home soil since the 2003 final will also mark the first ever World Cup match for Hong Kong China, who qualified after winning last year\u2019s Asia Rugby Championship.<\/p>\n
The second Pool A fixture will see the Wallabies take on Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in a blockbuster match up at Sydney\u2019s Accor Stadium on Saturday, October 9, kicking off at 5:10pm local time.<\/p>\n
The Wallabies defeated the All Blacks 22-10 in a semi-final at the same venue in 2003, but this will be the first time the teams have met in the pool stages of a Rugby World Cup. Accor Stadium is also the location for the only Bledisloe Cup Test in Australia this year.<\/p>\n
The Aussies\u2019 third and final pool match is against Chile in Brisbane on Saturday, October 16 at 3:10pm local time. It will be the first time the Wallabies have played the South Americans, who are featuring in their second Rugby World Cup after debuting in the 2023 edition in France.<\/p>\n
The confirmation of Wallabies\u2019 Rugby World Cup fixtures comes as the full tournament schedule was unveiled today, with 1999 winning captain John Eales and current Wallaby Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii appearing atop the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge holding the Webb Ellis Cup.<\/p>\n
Wallabies captain Harry Wilson said: \u201cTo have the schedule confirmed for next year\u2019s Rugby World Cup is hugely exciting and certainly heightens the anticipation for what\u2019s going to be an incredible tournament – not just for players but I\u2019m sure for supporters, especially those in Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo kick off our campaign against Hong Kong China will be special given it\u2019s their first time in a World Cup and we always feel incredibly well supported in Perth.<\/p>\n
\u201cNew Zealand a week later in Sydney will obviously be a massive occasion and we\u2019ll get a sense of what\u2019s that going to be like when we play them at Accor Stadium later this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cPersonally, I\u2019m thrilled our third pool game is in my home city of Brisbane against Chile who are one of the rapidly improving nations in World Rugby and will be a massive challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
