Ali Shamkhani, the political adviser to Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, said Iran is ready to negotiate only on its nuclear file, provided that talks are held without threats or what he described as unlogical conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an interview with Lebanon\u2019s\u00a0Al Mayadeen TV, Shamkhani said Iran could reduce its uranium enrichment level from 60 per cent to 20 per cent, but only if it receives what he called an \u201cappropriate price and return\u201d.<\/p>\n
On the military front, he warned that any attack on Iran, even a limited one, would turn into a major crisis beyond the expectations of those behind it. He said Iran\u2019s response to Israel would be inevitable and proportionate to its actions.<\/p>\n
Shamkhani added that if the United States were to attack Iran first, Israel would be considered automatically involved and would be targeted in response at the same time.<\/p>\n
He also said Iran\u2019s deterrence strategy would not be limited to its own territory, but would extend to locations from which threats are launched in the region, describing the United States and Israel as one party in any potential aggression.<\/p>\n
