Chris Hemsworth<\/a> is reflecting on the inherent \u201cfragility\u201d of life.\n<\/p>\n \u201cMy appetite for racing forward has really been reined in,\u201d the Australian star, 42, told The Guardian<\/a> in a Feb. 3 profile with Bart Layton, writer-director of Crime 101<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n The recent Alzheimer\u2019s<\/a> diagnosis for his father<\/a> Craig has made him \u201cmore aware of the fragility of things,\u201d said Chris. \u201cYou start thinking, \u2018My dad won\u2019t be here forever.\u2019\u201d\n<\/p>\n The Thor<\/a> star\u2019s three children<\/a>, whom he shares with wife Elsa Pataky<\/a>, are growing up, too, as he told the outlet.\n<\/p>\n \u201cMy kids are now 11 and 13. Those nights where they\u2019d fight over sleeping in our bed \u2014 suddenly they\u2019re not happening anymore,” the actor said.\n<\/p>\n Craig Hemsworth and his family in July 2025.<\/p>\n Karwai Tang\/WireImage<\/p>\n Chris’s \u201cmiddle passage\u201d in life has meant recalibrating his definition of success, he continued.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI used to think maybe if I was nominated for something, I\u2019d feel good about myself. Or maybe if I had the biggest film of all time, or launched another franchise, then I\u2019d feel fulfilled,” Chris told The Guardian. “It\u2019s absurd. And do I want people to know my fears and insecurities to this level?\u201d\n<\/p>\n However, A Roadtrip to Remember \u201cwas a love letter to my father,\u201d he continued. \u201cPeople like to pretend [Alzheimer\u2019s is] not happening, because it\u2019s so uncomfortable for them, so you suffer in silence. People talk to you about the footy, and the weather and stuff, and no one actually says, \u2018How are you doing? Are you scared?
