Miranda Kerr<\/a> is looking back at her marriage to Orlando Bloom<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you forgot, the 42-year-old model and the 49-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor were married for three years from 2010 to 2013. Together, they share now-15-year-old son Flynn.<\/p>\n

In a new interview, Miranda reflected on the end of the marriage and shared an update on where she and Orlando stand today.<\/p>\n

Keep reading to find out more\u2026\u201cWe both knew that the relationship was not bringing out the best in each other,\u201d Miranda shared on the We Need to Talk podcast<\/a>. \u201cAnd so when we made that decision separate, I said to him, \u2018Let\u2019s always put the needs of Flynn first.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the end of the marriage, Miranda said that as she and Orlando rebuilt their dynamic as co-parents, they \u201chad done a lot of spiritual work,\u201d including a focus on forgiveness. <\/p>\n

\u201cForgiving each other, forgiving ourselves, creating peace within the situation,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

As they navigated life after their divorce, Miranda said that it was an easy choice for them to \u201cnot make it about\u201d themselves, but instead about \u201cwhat\u2019s in the best interest for Flynn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, let\u2019s make sure that we completely forgive each other, make peace with each other, because otherwise it really weighs on you,\u201d Miranda added. \u201cWhen you have a child with someone else, they\u2019re always going to be that person\u2019s parent for the rest of their life.\u201d<\/p>\n

That realization made her relationship with Orlando become \u201charmonious\u201d and \u201cpeaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n

After admitting that she had difficulties setting boundaries with Orlando, Miranda said that all changed after she met husband Evan Spiegel<\/a>, with whom she shares sons Hart, 7, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 23 months. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy husband has good boundaries,\u201d Miranda explained. \u201cAnd in the beginning, when Orlando and I had recently separated, I was just very, very giving, as always, and wanting to please. And if Orlando had a last-minute change\u2014and he would say this himself\u2014I would always accommodate him to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Evan, 35, came into the picture, he empowered Miranda to push back and be clear about her boundaries, for example, telling Orlando, \u201cI\u2019m so sorry that your plans changed, but we planned according to this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, nearly 13 years after their divorce, Miranda said that she and Orlando are in a great place.<\/p>\n

\u201cOrlando and I are great friends,\u201d she shared. \u201cI just wished him happy birthday and he told me, \u2018Thank you to me for being such a wonderful mother to Flynn.\u2019 And a great friend to him and that how grateful he is to have me in his life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel the same,\u201d Miranda continued, \u201cand I said, \u2018Thank you for everything that you are and being such a you know wonderful father to Flynn.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
