{"id":274302,"date":"2026-02-04T21:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T21:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/274302\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T21:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T21:59:09","slug":"kisch-mike-huckabee-call-to-move-embassies-to-jerusalem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/274302\/","title":{"rendered":"Kisch, Mike Huckabee call to move embassies to Jerusalem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Education Minister Yoav Kisch called on Tuesday for ministers to move their embassies into Jerusalem, \u201cthe eternal capital of the State of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kisch met with education ministers and senior executives from technology companies worldwide at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/culture\/article-868264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Museum of Tolerance<\/a> in Jerusalem, as part of the International Conference on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/business-and-innovation\/tech-and-start-ups\/article-885601\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Artificial Intelligence<\/a> and Innovation in Education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">In his remarks to the international delegations, Kisch said, \u201cWe are in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Israel, a city that we will not divide under any circumstances or conditions. I call on you to act in your country and move the embassies of your countries to Jerusalem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>US Ambassador to Israel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-885250\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mike Huckabee<\/a>, was also attending the event and responded to the minister\u2019s statement, saying, \u201cI join the minister&#8217;s call and hope that you will act accordingly. The United States already moved its embassy in 2018 and stated that Jerusalem is the united capital of the Jewish people, which cannot be divided. This was a practical and important step.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Traditionally, embassies are located in the country\u2019s capital, but in Israel, most are in Tel Aviv rather than Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, under the first Trump administration, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-883425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">US embassy<\/a> to Israel was moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, making it the first major power to relocate its embassy to Israel\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Other countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv rather than Jerusalem as they do not recognize Israeli sovereignty over all of Jerusalem.
