On Wednesday, February 4, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter was seen taking her dog for a walk, according to photos obtained by the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old \u2014 dressed in an oversized shirt and pants, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail \u2014 appeared emotionless two days after the Tongva tribe said that her home allegedly sits on its \u201cancestral land.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tribe wanted to \u201cprovide clarity\u201d to Eilish\u2019s controversial comments<\/a> at this year\u2019s Grammy Awards, where she turned her Song of the Year acceptance speech<\/a> into a political statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs grateful as I feel, I honestly don\u2019t feel like I need to say anything, but no one is illegal on stolen land,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now. And I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter<\/a>, and the people matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded her speech by saying \u201cf**k ICE\u201d amid ongoing controversy surrounding President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration crackdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Sunday\u2019s ceremony, people online pointed out that Eilish\u2019s multimillion-dollar home is allegedly sitting on land that belongs to the Tongva tribe, the indigenous people of the Los Angeles Basin.<\/p>\n

Political commentator Eric Daugherty wrote on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) that Eilish could \u201cgraciously host illegal aliens in her mansion,\u201d adding: \u201cAfter all, she has the moral high ground. Put up or shut the F up.\u201d<\/p>\n

While some people praised Eilish for calling out United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, another account wrote<\/a>, \u201cBillie Eilish calls America \u2018stolen land.\u2019 Ok, Billie. Your $14,000,000 mansion in LA is built where the Tongva tribes once lived. Any plans on returning it?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Daily Mail<\/a>, the Tongva tribe spokesperson said, \u201cAs the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated in our ancestral land. Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n
