Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> just performed her Grammy-nominated song \u201cManchild\u201d<\/a> at the Grammys and now she\u2019s performing it again during The Muppet Show special.<\/p>\n

Fans might be curious to know more about the inspiration for the song, including if it\u2019s about one of her exes. <\/p>\n

While fans initially thought the song was going to be about her former boyfriend Barry Keoghan<\/a>, fans noted that Sabrina\u2018s lyrics didn\u2019t match up with their relationship. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lyric in the second verse that seems to shut down theories about Barry being the subject of the song.<\/p>\n

Sabrina sings in verse two, \u201cWhy so sexy if so dumb? \/ And how survive the Earth so long \/If I\u2019m not there, it won\u2019t get dumb \/ I choose to blame your mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

For those who don\u2019t know, Barry\u2018s mom tragically died from heroin addiction when he was only 12 years old. He recently was very candid about his own battles with addiction<\/a> and what it was like losing his mom at a young age. <\/p>\n

It seems very unlikely that Sabrina would use Barry\u2018s tragedy in a song this way, seemingly shutting down theories that he\u2019s the \u201cManchild\u201d subject. <\/p>\n

Sabrina has also revealed that she wrote the song \u201con a random tuesday with amy and jack not too long after finishing short n\u2019 sweet and it ended up being the best random tuesday of my life.\u201d She was still dating Barry at this time, so this isn\u2019t a breakup song about their relationship!<\/p>\n

So, who is it about? Most fans are guessing it\u2019s about one of her other exes, possibly Shawn Mendes<\/a> or Joshua Bassett<\/a>.<\/p>\n
