But for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-cities-third-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-cities-third-edition\/\">the third edition of our ranking<\/a>, we did things a little differently. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Livability is not a one-size-fits-all issue, and one of the most relevant factors in deciding where to live is the size of the community. In this edition, we introduced a way to separate the ranking based on population. With this new feature, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-major-city-ottawa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-major-city-ottawa\/\">Ottawa<\/a> came out as the most livable major city, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-large-city-north-vancouver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-large-city-north-vancouver\/\">North Vancouver<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-medium-sized-city-west-vancouver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.globeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-medium-sized-city-west-vancouver\/\">West Vancouver<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-small-city-pitt-meadows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-canada-most-livable-small-city-pitt-meadows\/\">Pitt Meadows<\/a>, B.C. coming out on top of their respective size categories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Our ranking looked at hundreds of communities across Canada, and organized them based on different factors that Canadians might consider when looking for a place to live. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">On Feb. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET, data editor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/authors\/mahima-singh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/authors\/mahima-singh\/\">Mahima Singh<\/a>, consumer affairs reporter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/authors\/mariya-postelnyak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/authors\/mariya-postelnyak\/\">Mariya Postelnyak<\/a> and reporter Andrew Galbraith will be answering reader questions on the third edition of the Livable Cities ranking, including why certain communities came out on top and what your community\u2019s place on the list could mean for you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Why is the Vancouver area always high on the rankings?
