Kelly Clarkson<\/a> is preparing for her next chapter after deciding to step away from her daytime talk show.\n<\/p>\n \u201cAfter years of an intense daily schedule, she\u2019s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show,” a source exclusively tells PEOPLE.\n<\/p>\n “This change gives her the space to be more present at home while still doing the creative work she loves,” the source continues. “Kelly still wants to make music and perform, and she\u2019s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind.\u00a0For her, this next phase is about balance.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Kelly Clarkson with daughter, River, and son, Remy.<\/p>\n Kelly Clarkson\/Instagram<\/p>\n The Grammy winner, 43, announced on Monday, Feb. 2, that the current season of The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a>\u00a0will be its last, bringing the NBC series to an end after seven seasons.\n<\/p>\n In a statement shared on Instagram<\/a>, Clarkson reflected on her time hosting the show and the team behind it.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at \u2018The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,\u201d the singer wrote. \u201cThere have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”<\/p>\n Clarkson went on to share that the decision will allow her to “prioritize” her two children: daughter River, 11, and Remington “Remy,” 9, whom she shares with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Kelly Clarkson.<\/p>\n Tyler Golden\/NBC via Getty\u00a0<\/p>\n “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting \u2018The Kelly Clarkson Show,\u2019” she continued. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”\n<\/p>\n The\u00a0“Stronger” singer filed for divorce<\/a> from Blackstock in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The exes were\u00a0entangled in a lengthy legal battle surrounding spousal support, custody of their two children and Clarkson\u2019s Montana ranch. Clarkson\u00a0won primary custody<\/a>\u00a0of their children\u00a0in November 2020, and the former couple eventually\u00a0settled their divorce<\/a>\u00a0in March 2022. Blackstock was ordered to leave the ranch by June 2022.\n<\/p>\n In the summer of 2023, the singer-songwriter and her children\u00a0moved to New York<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the fifth season\u00a0of\u00a0The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n
