<\/p>\nGood news Patience fans \u2013 the hit Channel 4 drama is coming back for more. Following the release of the second last month, the detective drama has been renewed for season 3.<\/p>\n
Sharing the news today, the broadcaster revealed that the next instalment will run at 10 episodes, with production due to kick off in March in Belgium and York.<\/p>\n
Season 3 will see Ella Maisy Purvis’s titular character, an autistic criminologist, continue her work with the City of York Police, and she’ll form a closer bond with Jessica Hynes’s new character DI Frankie Monroe after clashes in season 2, with the pair “now close colleagues and even friends”.<\/p>\n
“As well as taking a new step in her romantic life in series 3, family bonds bring a new horizon for Patience, as she navigates building a relationship with her estranged half-sister Joy while also investigating her father\u2019s death,” the synopsis adds. “Was the car crash that killed him really an accident or is there more to the case than meets the eye?”<\/p>\n
Channel 4 said season 2 was “the channel\u2019s most watched show so far this year across linear and streaming”, launching to an average audience of 4.2 million viewers in its first month.<\/p>\n
