NASA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/mission\/sdo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Solar Dynamics Observatory<\/a>, which watches the Sun constantly, captured an image of the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Solar flares are powerful bursts of energy. Flares and solar eruptions can impact radio communications, electric power grids, navigation signals, and pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This flare is classified as an X1.5 flare.
