These models are a part of NVIDIA\u2019s broader strategy to expand its open-source AI software ecosystem beyond conventional compute workloads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">The models were unveiled at the annual meeting of the American Meteorological Society in Houston. NVIDIA plans to move away from costly and time-intensive physics-based simulations, replacing them with AI-driven alternatives that deliver faster results while keeping affordability in check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">According to management, a significant commercial use case is insurance, where firms are increasingly using large-scale simulations to assess the risks posed by extreme weather events such as hurricanes and floods.
